On May 15, 2008 the American Red Cross joined with the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, Lubbock Fire Department, Lubbock EMS, South Plains EMS, City of Lubbock Emergency Management, Lubbock County Coroner's Office, and the Salvation Army to participate in LIA's Tri-Annual Mass-Casualty Exercise. Students from the South Plains College School of Nursing acted as victims from a crashed 727. The plane was donated to the Lubbock Fire Department several years ago by FedEx. Video from KCBD.
